Farewell Reception for Drew and Liz

On Sunday, Jan 20 (during ABF) we will hold a farewell reception for Drew and Liz Askew. Drew is transitioning to a youth ministry position at Bethel Baptist Church in Troy, Illinois. We are grateful the Lord brought the Askews into our lives and church and we pray God's blessing on them in their new church and city.

Prayers and Praises

Pray for the Nations

Prayer

Mosuo People of SW China

56,000 people, Buddhist with Tibetan influence, 5% Christian

The Mosuo people continue to operate out of a matriarchial society where all women are in charge.  Their people group has not been recognized by the Chinese government and is instead considered part of the Naxi people, which Mosuo's despise since they are vastly different in language, religion, & culture.

There is currently no written language among the Mosuo, therefore the Bible can only be communicated by oral storytelling.  Pray for the small number of growing believers among them, that they would not give up meeting together (Heb 10:25) and boldly proclaim to their neighbors.

Pray for Good Shepherd Lutheran Church

Prayer

As we pray for other local churches, remember Good Shepherd Lutheran. They've been gracious to share building space with us. Pray the Lord will give them blessings in their ministry, health among their membership, and wisdom about the future.
