Community Groups

Community Group

Community Groups meet weekly on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings. Now also on Sunday evenings. Visit our Community Group page to reach out to a leader.

God created us to live in gospel community, under the word and rooted in the person of Jesus Christ. Our focus is to bring glory to Christ, to orient our lives around the gospel, to focus on change, and fulfill our mission as Christ’s ambassadors. To keep a proper balance and guard our Community Groups against revolving around something other than the gospel, we pursue at least four primary goals for life with one another:

1. Progressive Sanctification (Growing Into the Image of Christ)
2. Caring for One Another
3. Biblical Fellowship
4. Stewardship of Spiritual Gifts

CG Questions 5.23

Community Group
  1. What was most striking about the text of Scripture from Sunday, Amos 1:2-5
  2. Think of some passages of Scripture, and share together what are the appropriate responses. This exercise can help us think cultivate appropriate responses.
  3. As Christ’s ambassadors, how can we minister to people who feel they are under heavy hardship, oppression, or even persecution?
Prayers and Praises

IMB 175 Days of Prayer: West Africans in Paris, France

Prayer

"Some of our Paris teammates are now in the United States, and they are looking to connect with Sub-Saharan African people groups in the area in which they are currently residing. Are there Wolof people in southern Arizona? Are there Fulani? Are there Soninke? Are there Bambara? Just the other day, Noelle West* did an internet search for African hair salons in the Phoenix area. She was able to speak Wolof with a woman from Senegal who has been living in Phoenix for more than 20 years! Pray for multiple connections with Africans in Arizona while Noelle and her husband, Carson,* spend the next year living there. Pray that doors will open to partner with supporting churches as relationships are nurtured and formed through speaking engagements. Pray for many opportunities to connect with Africans, and ask for relationships to form that will allow for gospel sharing and discipleship. Pray that the Wests will be intentional with the time they have in Arizona, trusting God and being obedient to His will." (*names changed)
