CG Questions 12.11

CG Questions

CG Questions:
1. Discuss how we can grow our affection for Jesus and our future. What does it look like to “count it all joy, when you meet trials of various kinds?”
2. What would you say qualifies as “righteous acts”? Can we plan to do righteous acts, if so list some things we can do this week?
3. Pray and encourage each other to share the gospel weekly in December. Consider pairing up with someone in your group to share the Gospel with a neighbor, coworker, or family member………

Missionary Spotlight: JIM AND ELISABETH ELLIOT

Prayer

Who were the Elliot’s?
The Elliot’s were a married couple who longed to see lost people come to know Jesus.
What was their mission?
Their mission was to befriend and share the news of Jesus with the Aucas, a people group that was often described as violent who lived in the jungles of Ecuador. Jim Eliott was brutally killed, along with 4 other missionaries, when they first tried to make friendly contact with the Auca people. Following his death, Elisabeth Eliott, along with her daughter and a sister of one of the other missionaries killed, went back to the Auca people to continue the efforts in sharing the good news of Jesus. This time they were successful!

How can we help now?
We can thank God and pray for all the missionaries around the world who are sharing about Jesus.
We can share the good news of Jesus with our friends here in America.
We can give money to the International Mission Board to help support missionaries overseas. They have a special offering every year at Christmas time called the “Lottie Moon Christmas Offering.”
