IMB 175 Days of Prayer: Semnan
Prayer
The city of Semnan, Iran, looks like many other university cities: bustling crowds, a popular soccer team, and a growing tourism industry that attracts outsiders with its youthful energy. Yet Semnan is unique. The Semnani people once had a vibrant language and culture. Now they have largely assimilated into the modern culture, but they understand their history and are proud of it. They speak the mainstream language of Farsi, yet thousands of Semnan's 150,000 Muslim citizens also know their ancient Semnani language. Some Semnani even pursue the revitalization of their language and a closer identity with their ancestors. There are no known believers among the Semnani people. It is difficult to know if the Semnani need resources in their ancient language. Please ask the Lord to give wisdom to gospel-media producers as they seek to develop effective resources. Pray that God will call Iranian believers who will contextualize and bring the gospel to Semnani families.
