Community Groups

Community Group

Community Groups meet weekly on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings. Now also on Sunday evenings. Visit our Community Group page to reach out to a leader.

God created us to live in gospel community, under the word and rooted in the person of Jesus Christ. Our focus is to bring glory to Christ, to orient our lives around the gospel, to focus on change, and fulfill our mission as Christ’s ambassadors. To keep a proper balance and guard our Community Groups against revolving around something other than the gospel, we pursue at least four primary goals for life with one another:

1. Progressive Sanctification (Growing Into the Image of Christ)
2. Caring for One Another
3. Biblical Fellowship
4. Stewardship of Spiritual Gifts

2. Why will you love?
3. How will you love?

Prayers and Praises

IMB 175 Days of Prayer

Prayer

An indigenous group living in the mountains of Oaxaca, Mexico are the Chinantecs (chee-NAHN-tecks). They farm the rugged land with crops of corn, yams, cassava (yucca), and beans, and they raise cattle and pigs. Weaving cloth for clothing and baskets is a time-honored skill. They are simple people who live in the ways of a century ago, planting and harvesting without the aid of modern machinery. Their homes are often mud or log huts with thatched roofs. When asked, they will say that they are Roman Catholic, though they mix these beliefs with the worship of other spirits, especially those they think bring rain and good crops. Ask God to show the Chinantec that following Him alone in pure worship is the desire of His heart. Pray for the peoples of Oaxaca to come to salvation and share their faith with those around them.
