Though it's largest religious population is considered Christian, the fastest growing is "non-religious".
Pray for the Christians who are being discipled to be sent out and those who will reach the indigenous peoples around them, particularly Muslims. Pray for the government leaders, those with national and international influence as well as those who allow Christian workers to reach the villages for the good of the gospel and the good of the people. Pray for the nearly 1 million Chinese people there who represent some of the oldest Protestant churches, that they would reach out to mainland and younger generations.

A few thousand secret believers in a country that boasts in being “100%” Muslim population and is the only country in the world that requires all citizens to be Muslim., “To be a Maldivian is to be a Muslim.” It is the most densely populated country in the world making it difficult for believers to be known for their faith outside of their small community. There is a culture of mistrust among them, the very few believers are fearful to be known much less to be discovered having a connection to foreigners who are Christians. There is no church and no complete Bible, only portions written in their language. Pray that God would work in visions and dreams to lead the Maldives to believers who would be bold enough to share the gospel with them. Pray citizens may experience true freedom, for discipleship opportunities and unity among the local body
