On the west leg of the island of Sulawesi, 6,500 Starfruit People* live without hope, joy, or peace. Although Islam has come to their villages and mosques have been erected on every corner, the people often resort to mantras and medicines given by witch doctors, and long-held superstitious beliefs keep them bound in fear. There is reportedly a small pocket of believers among this people group but no officially recognized church. Please pray that these 50 believers will be kindled by the Holy Spirit and become devoted to reading the Word, meeting together, and praying, and ask that they will be bold to share their faith with their neighbors and friends. Ask that harvest laborers will feel called to this area of Sulawesi and bring the good news to the rest of the Starfruit People as well as disciple and encourage the current believers. Pray that God will reveal Himself to the Starfruit People in dreams and visions, lighting a fire in them to turn to Him and confess Him as their Lord and Savior. (*name changed)
