Community Groups

Community Group

Community Groups meet weekly on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings. Now also on Sunday evenings. Visit our Community Group page to reach out to a leader.

God created us to live in gospel community, under the word and rooted in the person of Jesus Christ. Our focus is to bring glory to Christ, to orient our lives around the gospel, to focus on change, and fulfill our mission as Christ’s ambassadors. To keep a proper balance and guard our Community Groups against revolving around something other than the gospel, we pursue at least four primary goals for life with one another:

1. Progressive Sanctification (Growing Into the Image of Christ)
2. Caring for One Another
3. Biblical Fellowship
4. Stewardship of Spiritual Gifts

CG Questions 11.08

Community Group
  1. What "other voices" are vying for our attention? What are their messages?
  2. Why is our "kingdom" shakable? Why is God's kingdom unshakable?
  3. How do you regain our awe of God when it's weak or missing from our life?
Prayers and Praises

175 Days of Prayer: The Woman's Missionary Union website

Prayer

The Woman's Missionary Union website, wmu.com, states, "For more than 130 years, WMU has devoted itself to making disciples of Jesus who live on mission. We are dedicated to working with churches and believers to accomplish the mission of God." Devoted and dedicated are ideal words to describe the women who promote missions offerings, resource all ages in missions education, pray diligently for missionaries on their birthdays, and engage in missions activities themselves. Through the Pure Water, Pure Love program, WMU provides water filters for missionaries and teams on short-term mission trips. They also partner to provide wells of clean water to communities in need. Did you know that WMU maintains a database of housing sponsored by Southern Baptist churches or associations that can be offered to IMB missionaries while they are temporarily in the U.S.? State WMU Directors (known by varied titles) work with their committees to coordinate retreats and activities. What a blessing to know that WMU members are prayer walking each college campus in their state and traveling across the globe to serve alongside missionary teams. Give thanks to the Father for national, state, associational, and church WMU leaders as they partner in reaching the nations for Christ. Ask God to encourage and guide these greatly appreciated WMU members as they continue to faithfully undergird His work.
