Christmas on Elm is TODAY

Where: Bethel Downtown
The Foundry Event

Christmas on Elm is back and even better than before! TODAY, December 15, we're going to be having a big ol' party right in the Foundry from 1 PM - 7 PM. There will be food trucks, live music, and an art and craft market filled with perfectly giftable goods for your most difficult to shop for relatives. We'll also have a bounce house and Christmas art station for the kids, along with warm Foundry beverages available for purchase. You're welcome to stick around after the 2nd service to get an early start on lunch from the food trucks, then stay for the kickoff at 1 PM. See you then!

Christmas at Downtown

Where: Bethel Downtown

With Christmas and the New Year coming up, we have a slightly altered schedule for the end of December. Our Sunday morning services and ministries will happen at the regular times on December 22. Then, on Tuesday, December 24, we will be having a Christmas Eve service starting at 6 PM. To round it out, we will have one family service on December 29 at 10:30 AM rather than our usual two services. There are no children's classes during the service on December 24 or December 29, but there will be kids bulletins and a family-friendly service format.

Bethel Kids

During Sunday School on December 22, the elementary class will be having a Christmas party! We will meet during our regular Sunday morning time from 9:00-10:15 AM and in our regular classrooms but with a fun, festive twist. There will be themed games, treats, and crafts as we close out the Christmas season. Festive attire is encouraged but not required. (Christmas jammies definitely count, y'all.) See you there!

Baby shower for the Borreros

January 18, 2025 at 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM

Save the date! On January 18, the Wallaces will be hosting a baby shower for Ethan and Ashley Borrero, and all are invited to come hang out, eat food, and join the celebration! It will be a co-ed come and go party from 2-5 PM at 911 W Houston Street, no RSVP required. The family is registered at Target and Babylist.com. If you don't spot anything on the registry that speaks to you, they also welcome books, diapers, and gift cards, though your presence as they celebrate new life is the best gift of all! Text Carey Wallace at (903) 570-4542 with any questions.

Life Group Discussion Questions - Luke 1:1-25

1. How does Zechariah and Elizabeth's story demonstrate God's perfect timing, even when it feels delayed? Can you think of a time in your life when God's timing became clear only in hindsight?

2. Zechariah doubted the angel's message. How do we handle doubts about God's promises in our own lives? What can we learn from Zechariah's response and consequences?

3. The passage emphasizes that "God remembers His covenant." How does this truth bring comfort and encouragement in your personal walk with Christ?

4. Zechariah and Elizabeth lived righteously despite the corruption of their time. What does it look like to live righteously in today’s society? What practical steps can we take?

5. Zechariah was chosen to offer incense, symbolizing prayer, in the temple. How can prayer serve as a central focus in our daily lives and faith communities?

6. The Gospel of Luke often highlights marginalized individuals. What does this tell us about God’s heart, and how should it shape our attitudes toward others in need?

7. Advent is described as a season of awakening joy and fulfillment. How can we intentionally use this Advent season to focus on Christ amidst the busyness of life?

8. Luke writes to Theophilus so that he might have certainty about the Gospel. What doubts or questions about faith have you wrestled with, and how can Scripture provide certainty?
