Dinner Table 2025

Where: Bethel Downtown

What we've all been waiting for: Dinner Table 2025! Participants commit to attend one dinner a month during June, July, and August, one of which they will host. Each dinner will have a different randomly assigned group of people, which will give everyone the chance to meet some new people and get to know others better. You don't have to have a big house or fancy food to host, just a willingness to let people come share a meal with you!

You can register online by clicking the registration button or by texting "DINNERDT" to (903) 437-4437. Groups will be assigned via email, so only one person per household should sign up, and it should be whoever will check their email the most regularly. Questions? Email sarahl@bethelbible.com.

Family Dedication

April 27, 2025
Where: Bethel Downtown

We are having a Family Dedication during the worship services on April 27! This is a great opportunity for young families to be surrounded by a body of believers as we commit together to helping train up their children in the way they should go. We will introduce the families and children being dedicated, pray for them, and affirm our mutual commitment to helping the children grow in the faith.

If you have young children who have not been dedicated and would like to sign up to participate, email tawneechantel@gmail.com.

Life Group Discussion Questions - Luke 16:19-31

1. In the parable, Jesus gives a name to Lazarus but not to the rich man. What might this suggest about identity and where we find our value? How does this impact your understanding of what truly defines a person?

2. Read verses 24-26. What do we learn about the nature of hell from this passage? How does this challenge common misconceptions or cultural ideas about hell?

3. The Big Idea from the sermon is: "Whatever you make your help becomes who you are." How does this truth play out in both Lazarus’s and the rich man’s stories? What are some things people today might wrongly make their help, and how does that shape their identity?

4. In verses 27-31, the rich man pleads for a miraculous sign to warn his brothers. How does Abraham’s response affirm the sufficiency of Scripture? What does this teach us about faith and belief?

5. Reflect on the statement: “Hell is where people keep the name they made for themselves for all eternity.” What does this mean to you? How does the gospel offer a new name and a new identity in Christ?
